Coach Tours - Southampton Coach Hire

Celebrate a special occasion in style by using Southampton Coach Hire to explore Hastings and the surrounding area. One of the most famous names of any town in England, Hastings is synonymous with the famous battle of 1066, when the Normans successfully invaded the country. As you would expect, the town is bursting with historic sites, although the town itself is of much less important nowadays than a millennium ago.

Hastings Museum and Art Gallery is a great place to get to know more about this historic town and admire some excellent artwork. The museum showcases the history of the town as well as having some extensive displays on other regions, most notably its acclaimed subcontinent section, which houses some priceless Indian artefacts. The Art Gallery focuses on the work of John Logie Baird and other famous local artists, while the temporary galleries feature a rotating exhibition that changes every two months.

Wandering around the town and along the beachfront, you’ll discover some great old buildings such as the churches of All Saints and St Clements as well as curious old net shop huts, once providing fisherman with a place to hang their nets to dry. Also worth visiting are the Fisherman’s Museum and Shipwreck Heritage Centre. The ruins of Hastings Castle on Castle Hill overlook the town and can be reached by the West Hill Cliff Railway. While most of the castle is in ruins, the chapel, dungeons and some other features are intact, and the view alone is worth the visit.

One of the great things about Hastings is that it has something for everyone and visitors can use their Southampton Coach Hire to simply drive along the coast if they wish. Fun for all the family can be had at the enthralling Underwater World theme park, where you can walk through underwater tunnels and witness marine life all around you.
